Call for questions for our Annual APAD Conference Friday 20th May BCEC
Dear Members – we are getting ready for our 2022 conference at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre. We are just making the final touches to ensure we have the speakers ready, check all the invites have gone out and that we maximise the time we spend together. The topics are as varied as the speakers, but we look forward to coming together to network, hear the latest Court of Protection and OPG updates, hear what fellow members have been doing, understand current research and case law all related to the specialist field of public authority deputyships.
We hope to have many stalls of related business’s keen to share their latest developments and offer resources that you may like to consider. We still have some spaces available so be quick to complete your registration forms, noting dietary and access requirements so we can welcome you on the day. We are hoping to have a live streaming option for members to connect remotely, we will confirm this imminently for those who may not be able to travel to join us on the day.
Please would you send us your questions you would like us to put to the expert panel on the day – this will consist of Her Honour Senior Judge Hilder from the Court of Protection and Ruth Duffin – representing the Public Guardian from the Office of the Public Guardian, as well as National APAD Committee members. We will have a separate Q&A session with Lyndon Walters and a colleague from the Department for Work and Pensions – please send in your questions in advance so Lyndon is able to prep a response for you and follow through on complex issues. As always, the panel will not be able to answer person specific queries. Apad.email@example.com
Look forward to seeing you then.

A ‘Distance Learning’ option is now available for APAD Accredited learning.
Due to the restrictions we were unable to continue offering our normal APAD Corporate Deputyship Accreditation programme, which includes face-to-face workshops. However, in order to allow us to keep offering this programme, your committee has redeveloped this programme and is now pleased to be able to offer the same learning opportunity at a distance.
